Frequently asked questions

How uncomfortable is Profhilo® and will I be offered any type of anaesthetic?

There is mild discomfort expected during the treatment, which subsides quickly following treatment. Immediately following the procedure, there will be visible bumps in the skin, which indicate correct placement of Profhilo®. These subside gradually, without massage/intervention, often within hours, but may take up to 24 hours to settle fully. Profhilo® uniquely spreads out evenly in the skin as a direct result of precise and strategic placement.

How many treatments will I need?

All patients who visit Anna Baker Aesthetic Clinic will undertake a detailed medical consultation and assessment of their areas of concern. This allows us to approximate the number of treatments based upon the expected level of improvement from treatment, as well as the baseline condition of the area(s) to be treated. Patients can expect to need between 2-3 treatments, which will depend upon individual age, size of area being treated, as well as the baseline condition of the skin, and the degree of laxity.

Are there specific post-treatment instructions that I need to follow?

Yes-These are explained to you in detail during your initial consultation, as well as on the day of treatment. We advise patients to withhold from consuming alcohol for 24 hours following treatment, as well as abstaining from vigorous physical exercise and using a sauna. Patients should withhold from touching/massaging the ‘bumps’ in the skin following treatment, to reduce risk of cross-infection and to ensure the best result can be achieved.

Can I have this treatment on the same day as other aesthetic procedures?

At Anna Baker Aesthetic Clinic, our key priority is the safety of our patients, and we generally advise for different aesthetic treatments to be spaced apart. Whilst Profhilo® is a safe and established treatment to improve the quality and laxity of the skin, we do not advise patients undergo this treatment in the same area as another procedure on the same day (for example, another injectable treatment like dermal fillers). It can, however, be effectively combined with Dermalux Tri-Wave MD on the same day to enhance overall results as this is a non-invasive treatment, which is clinically proven to calm skin post-procedurally.

Can I maintain the results from SkinkoE mesotherapy after my initial course?

Yes-absolutely! In terms of the ideal maintenance frequency of treatments required, this is discussed at your consultation.
