Medical micro-needling is a long established & proven treatment for the face and body that can effectively treat a variety of anti-ageing concerns.

This is a form of collagen induction, whereby a number of small sterile needles are introduced into the skin to stimulate a controlled level of wound healing and repair. This in turn stimulates regenerative processes in different layers of the skin, and as a result, structural collagen fibres are renewed, and elastin is strengthened.

The XCellaris Pro Twist device has been developed to allow precision in terms of targeting the correct depth, as well as the speed & intensity by which the needles penetrate the skin-It is entirely customisable. In addition, we use a serum on the skin during treatment, which contains a combination of hydrating and collagen boosting ingredients. This added benefit means that this powerful anti-ageing serum is delivered deeply into the skin thanks to the microchannels created, which close rapidly after treatment.

Micro-needling can improve a range of concerns on the face & body, such as, certain types of scarring (acneic), textural roughness, enlarged pores, as well as & fine/deeper lines. Treatment Time

Ranges from half an hour, to 1 hour. This will depend upon the number, as well as the size of the area(s) to be treated. This can be determined following a detailed medical consultation.

Treatment Results

Improvements in skin tone/texture, reduction in the appearance of scarring, fine lines & wrinkles will gradually be noticeable over a course of treatment. Maintenance is recommended.

Treatment Downtime

Redness, warmth & tightness to the area treated. Pinprick bleeding & bruising may occasionally be seen. Redness will usually subside in 24-48 hours, and after this time, the skin may feel dry and it is important to regularly moisturise, apply spf and remain well hydrated with adequate water intake. A post-treatment hydrating hyaluronic acid mask is applied to the skin immediately following treatment to soothe & lock in moisture. This can remain on the skin, and we can combine this alongside Dermalux light therapy to supercharge the combined regenerative benefits of this synergistic approach.

Frequently asked questions

Is medical micro-needling painful?

Typically, micro-needling feels warm and tingly, this is not usually a painful treatment, although it is normal to expect some mild discomfort, which settles within 24-48 hours. The post-treatment calming hyaluronic mask reduces the soreness and discomfort rapidly and delivers lasting hydration to the skin.

How many medical microneedling sessions do I need?

This is determined following a thorough medical consultation, and will depend on the concern(s) to be treated, and size, as well as the number of areas, and overall condition of the skin. The number of initial treatments in the course can range from approximately 3-6, with an interval for 4-6 weeks between sessions. It may be recommended to allow slightly longer between treatments for areas on the body, but this can be assessed and discussed further as the time of consultation. A maintenance regimen will be recommended at the time of consultation, tailored individually according to concern(s).

Can I have this treatment on the same day as other aesthetic procedures?

It is not recommended to undergo medical microneedling in the same treatment session as other procedures. The only exception is that it can be combined with Dermalux LED immediately after treatment on the same day. This helps to speed healing & recovery, as well as soothe the treated area.

Can I maintain the results from medical-microneedling long-term after my initial course?
