At Anna Baker Skin Clinic, I am delighted to be working with gold-standard laser technology-the Motus AY. This incredible & diverse treatment platform delivers two outstanding lasers: Alexandrite and Nd:YAG, thanks to its comfortable treatment settings for ALL skin types. The Nd:YAG handpiece specifically allows us to deliver skin rejuvenation benefits as the light is absorbed within the deeper layers of the skin (dermis) which is key to target the regenerative cells. This stimulates the fibroblasts to renew collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. Over a course of 4-6 treatments there are improvements in skin texture with increased smoothness, less visible pores, reduction in the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, increased firmness and a more even tone to the skin. Why do I use Lynton lasers? Lynton lasers are founded on years of innovation and research carried out at The University of Manchester where Lynton originated in 1994. Lynton’s reputation is credible and trusted globally owing to the innovative and unique technologies which they produce. They have won many awards for their British manufactured equipment which delivers unrivalled results with safety at the forefront of their protocols.
There is a mild warmth associated with treatment, which is tolerable and settles following treatment.
Typically between 4-6 treatments are recommended. This can be assessed following a detailed initial consultation at the time that the patch test is performed. It is recommended that these are scheduled at 3-4 weekly intervals. Maintenance is recommended to ensure that the best results are achieved and sustained over time.
Prior to the area being treated, it should be free from make-up and skincare products. It is important to avoid waxing, plucking, hair removal creams and bleaching for 1 month prior to laser treatments. There must be no active or fake tan on any areas requiring treatment. The use of sunbeds or prolonged exposure to sunlight is not permitted 1 month prior to treatment. A minimum factor of SPF 30 should be applied to the area between treatments. An active tan must have completely faded before treatment can start, and fake tan must be completely removed prior to treatment. It is vitally important that you inform us of all medication (including over the counter) remedies/supplements that you may be taking at the consultation, as well as any changes with regard to these between appointments during the treatment course.
Cooling the skin may be required prior to, during and following the procedure. If the feeling of heat persists following treatment, then cooling can continue. After treatment, the area may look and feel warm with some tingling, which is perfectly normal and will settle. Swelling is less common, but may also occur, this can vary depending upon the area and specific treatment settings being performed. Specific post-treatment advice will be tailored to you individually, and discussed with you at the time of your appointment.
